The Sedona Quilt is made through a hands-on process involving four artisan specialties: wood carving, block printing, quiltmaking, and dye work. Its graphic pattern is pressed onto cotton voile using hand-carved wooden blocks dipped in dye, creating subtle differences in line, color, and placement from one quilt to the next.
Once printed, the cotton shell is taken to the homes of quiltmakers, where it is filled and stitched by hand. The result is a soft, all-cotton quilt with striking geometric motifs and the individual character that comes from small-batch production.
Carved by Hand: Artisans carve the wooden blocks used to build the quilt’s geometric pattern.
Individually Printed: Each motif is hand-pressed onto cotton voile, producing the slight variations expected from traditional block printing.
Cotton Voile Exterior: The lightweight cotton shell gives the quilt a soft, comfortable finish.
Cotton Filling: Filled with 100% cotton for natural loft and breathable warmth.
Four Artisan Specialties: Wood carvers, block printers, dye specialists, and quiltmakers each contribute to the finished piece.
Small-Batch Production: Variations in color, pattern placement, and stitching are part of the handcrafted process and make every quilt unique.
