The Low Diamond Candle Stand compresses the traditional candlestick into a small, weighty form. Its taper cup opens above a sharply defined diamond shaped center, then narrows into a compact circular foot. At five inches tall, the stand keeps candlelight close to the table while giving the iron itself enough substance to be noticed.
Each piece is forged by traditional blacksmiths in Moradabad, India, rather than cast into a uniform mold. Approximately four hours of skilled work go into heating, shaping, finishing, and testing the stand. Fine hammer marks and subtle shifts in texture remain visible across the surface, distinguishing the work of the hand beneath both finish options.
Four Hours of Handwork: Each candle stand takes approximately four hours to forge, shape, finish, and test.
Traditional Blacksmithing: Heated iron is worked by hand using skills carried through generations of North Indian metalcraft.
Historic Center of Metalwork: Moradabad has been associated with skilled metal production since the Mughal era and remains widely known as India’s Brass City.
Evidence of the Process: Slight changes in texture and form preserve the marks created as the iron is shaped by the blacksmith.
Diamond Shaped Center: The faceted middle gives the low stand a defined sculptural profile between the taper cup and base.
Flared Candle Cup: A softly opened holder supports a single taper while echoing the changing width of the body below.
Weighted Base: The substantial circular foot grounds the compact form and helps stabilize the candle.
Individually Tested: Each stand is topple tested as part of its production.
Brass Finish: The warm metallic surface draws attention to the forged texture and changing planes of the diamond form.
Black Finish: The dark option emphasizes the silhouette and creates a strong contrast against a pale taper candle.
Display one on a small table or mantel, or arrange several along a dining table where their low height preserves sightlines. Paired with the taller High Diamond stand, the two related forms create a graduated composition while retaining the individual character of each forged piece.
