The Sculpted Face Terracotta Mug gives a familiar drinking vessel the presence of a small ceramic portrait. Brows, closed eyes, a long nose, and softly formed lips emerge in relief from the rounded body, allowing light and shadow to define the expression differently throughout the day.

Made in Mexico from high-temperature ceramic and local clay, the mug is glazed only on the inside. Its exposed exterior retains a dry, tactile surface in earthen tones determined by the clay mixture and the heat of the kiln rather than by a colored outer glaze.
