This Hand-Forged Iron Candelabra reduces the traditional three-arm form to one continuous, expressive structure. Two arms sweep upward from the central stem, placing the outer tapers below the elevated center candle and creating a tiered arrangement of flame.
Forged in Moradabad, India, the candelabra carries the slight surface changes and hammer marks of iron worked by hand rather than poured into a mold. Its narrow profile allows the piece to introduce substantial height without occupying the center of the table.
Traditional Blacksmithing: Master blacksmiths heat and shape the iron by hand using knowledge carried through generations of North Indian metalwork.
Twelve Hours of Work: Each candelabra requires approximately 12 hours to forge, shape, finish, and test.
Historic Metalworking Center: Moradabad has been recognized for its metal craftsmanship since the Mughal era and remains closely associated with skilled work in iron, brass, copper, and aluminum.
Visible Hammer Marks: Subtle impressions and changes in texture record the process of shaping the metal by hand.
Three-Taper Design: A tall central cup is joined by two lower arms, creating a balanced progression of candlelight.
Weighted Base: The circular foot gives the slender structure a firm foundation.
Topple Tested: Each piece is individually tested for stability as part of its production.
Black Finish: The darker option emphasizes the candelabra’s silhouette and iron texture.
Brass Finish: A warm metallic finish brings greater visibility to the surface variation and forged details.
Dining Centerpiece: Its narrow four-inch depth preserves space for serving dishes while adding height above the table.
Console Display: Use alone to create a strong vertical element among books, vessels, and collected objects.
Mantel Arrangement: Pair with lower candleholders to build an intentionally uneven progression of light.
Grouped Presentation: Place two candelabras together for a larger arrangement while preserving their open, linear structure.
