Three rustic forms shaped in a Portuguese family pottery

The Casa Cubista Rustic Carafes pair exposed red terracotta with a loosely painted white glaze. Available in Cylinder, Spout, and Angle designs, each shape has its own proportions while sharing the collection’s warm color and relaxed finish.

Each carafe is thrown on the potter’s wheel by Rui, whose family has worked in Portuguese pottery for more than 200 years, and painted by his aunt Regina. Use it to serve water, coffee, punch, or mimosas, or fill it with flowers between gatherings.

Craft & Design

Family Pottery Tradition: Rui began working in his family’s pottery business as a child and continues a craft practiced across generations.
Wheel-Thrown Terracotta: Each carafe is individually formed rather than mechanically molded.
Hand-Painted Finish: White glaze contrasts with the exposed terracotta body and varies naturally from piece to piece.
Three Distinct Forms: Cylinder offers a straight profile, Spout has a broad pouring lip, and Angle narrows toward an asymmetrical rim.

Care

Wash by hand in hot, soapy water before first use, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air-dry. Handwashing is recommended; do not place in the dishwasher. The base may initially release slight moisture or “sweat,” which is normal and should decrease with use.
