Four distinctive cups capture the changing blues of the waters surrounding Aomori, Japan. From clear azure to deep navy, each color represents a different seascape: the Pacific Ocean, Sea of Japan, Tsugaru Strait, and Mutsu Bay.
Handcrafted by Tsugaru Vidro artisans, every cup has its own shape, color, and character. Delicate flecks of gold leaf shimmer against the blue glass like sunlight moving across the water, creating a sake set that brings the beauty of Japan’s northern coast to the table.
A Different Coastal Landscape in Every Cup
The set includes four complementary shades inspired by the waters bordering Aomori Prefecture. Turquoise represents the Pacific Ocean, azure reflects the Sea of Japan, deep turquoise recalls the Tsugaru Strait, and navy evokes the sheltered depths of Mutsu Bay.
Shaped by Skilled Artisans in Northern Japan
Tsugaru Vidro glass is formed by hand in furnaces reaching approximately 1,500 degrees Celsius. The artisans work with molten glass to create expressive forms and layered colors, ensuring that no two cups are completely identical.
